Bo Sanchez’s KERYGMA CONFERENCE
CHAMPIONS, ARISE!

In the past few days, I featured articles about the Kerygma Conference. I presented testimonies, the streams, the speakers, and the pictures of the past conferences, . Still, we received questions—indicating huge interest in Kerygma Conference.

We threw your questions to the best ever person who can answer them—the founder of Kerygma Conference, our Feast Builder, Bro. Bo Sanchez. Read on…

Bo Sanchez: We playfully call the Feast a prayer gathering on steroids. It’s wild, warm, and wonderful. God speaks to us through the Holy Mass, powerful worship, and the practical talk. I think of the Kerygma Conference as the Feast x 1000. More power. More blessings. More Miracles. And there are other things in the Conference that the Feast doesn’t have. The word Conference comes from confer which means to meet and discuss a certain topic. So more than just a gathering, the Kerygma Conference is a meeting about a specific topic—like the specific topics or what we call the streams of the Kerygma Conference. And you know that in a meeting, you can participate in the discussions.  That’s what’s happening in the Kerygma Conference. You participate—you can ask the speakers questions who can right away answer them. You participate in games, tests, and contests—what we call “gimmicks” which demonstrate the topics so you can better understand them and, more important, remember the lessons. That’s also the reason we call the Kerygma Conference a learning event.

Because we have a lot to receive from God. We have 14 streams. Actually, I wish we have a 14-day conference—one day per topic. In the past, we had fewer  topics. But people had requested us to include more. So this year we have four new topics: Business, Career, Education, and Health.

Because on the second day, November 25, I’ll preach Talk 1 of our brand new Feast series, Champions Arise—which is also the theme of this year’s Conference. The Sunday after that, December 2, we’ll be back here in PICC to continue with Talk 2 of that series.

Why have speakers other than you?
Because I don’t want to get tired of me. I want you to miss me once in a while. He-he. Seriously, because I can only give you insights from my own study and experience.
One other fantastic difference between the Feast and the Kerygma Conference is that you get new, fresh, inspiring wisdom from other wisdom-givers who will share from their own experiences. Believe me, the talks will satisfy your thirst for guidance—which you can share with your loved ones and other people you want to bring to the Lord.

Because to mount the Kerygma Conference isn’t cheap. But more than asking you to shell out cash for the conference, what I want to achieve is to make you give so you will receive. Studies after studies show that people pay more attention, they strive harder to learn, if they pay for the lecture.
I can pay for you—but the effort is mine, not yours, so the blessing will got to me, not to you.
Again, it’s all about the Law of the Farm: what you sow you will reap. When you buy your Kerygma Conference ticket, you are planting—really for yourself. You are investing to gain knowledge and wisdom. Because you planted, you will harvest—life-changing lessons and inspiration. You will never be the same again. Your life, your outlook, your behaviour, your action will change for the better.

Because we won’t fit in the PICC. A survey of the Shepherd’s Voice Radio and Television Foundation (SVRTV), the production arm of the Kerygma Conference, shows that we will have about 15,000 participants in Kerygma Conference 2012. So we need a bigger venue.
Last year, we held portions of Kerygma Conference 2011 in various function rooms, buildings, and theaters—and boy, that was so punishing for our production crew and volunteer servants. I was also running around like crazy—although I enjoyed the exercise. We also held the lst part of the Conference on the Cultural Center of the Philippines Open Grounds—and whew, we were forever on tenterhooks, storming Heaven not to let the rains fall.
So, we were happy the Mall of Asia Arena is now open in time for Kerygma Conference 2012 and the SMX Convention Center could accommodate us. They are the best event venues in the Philippines now.  The Kerygma Conference is God’s event. So we are holding it in the best ever venue available for us—for the Lord!

Because Jesus told His disciples: Go the whole world over, and proclaim the Good News.- Mark 16:15
The Good News is that God loves us without condition and He sent His only begotten Son to give us a new life. We want to proclaim that Good News—especially to the poor, the downtrodden, the unchurched. Now, we—the priests, the preachers, all the servants of the Light of Jesus Family—can’t do all the work. The Kerygma Conference is an inspiring learning event where we teach a good number of persons who can help us teach others about the Good News. Jesus made disciples of simple, ordinary people. Those disciples went around the world to make more disciples and through the years, those disciples have multiplied—otherwise we would have not known about the Good News and we would have not become disciples ourselves. Now, the work to make disciples is not yet done. There are still many—millions and billions—who have not heard the Good News, who are still not living the Good News. The Kerygma Conference will bring together 15,000 at the Mall of Asia and SMX Convention Center on November 24-25 to teach them the Good News so they can spread it to the ends of the Earth, as our Lord Jesus mandated.
I pray you will be one of those 15,000. I will wait for you at the Kerygma Conference 2012.
